A major, nationwide, research study in the U.S. clearly demonstrates a growing number of organizations and individuals who strongly identify with the need for a vibrant, ethical, and productive, online community.

Phase one of this landmark study, In Our Own Words 2000 (IOOW-2000), examined emerging values and expressions of transformation from the hearts and minds of the American people. The primary focus of IOOW-2000 was to gain a clearer understanding of the common tendencies among Americans regarding the meaning of life, community, service, and spirituality. These insights are being used to develop various proprietary, technological applications for The Global Interchange. The IOOW-2000 research demonstrates that an unprecedented awakening is occurring and that many of us are seeking a more integrated way of living that is founded on compassion and the basic interconnectedness of life.

The 8 American Types
This research illuminates the basis and need for an interactive, meaningful bridge between diverse groups of Americans who may currently believe they are so different from each other that they often do not see how deeply connected they actually are.

The information gathered in the IOOW-2000 research is the result of three years of intensive work carried out by a professional research team. The immediate and practical benefits derived from these findings include well-defined ways to reach people based on positive values and attitudes. These methods are not currently available through other research systems, commercial exchanges, or conventional communications strategies.

Through analysis of the IOOW-2000 research, The 8 American Types were discovered. This typology system provides startling new insight into our society by identifying segments of the adult population who have different attitudes and behaviors as well as distinctive decision-making patterns. These well-developed typologies were formed by examining the key values and intrinsic beliefs among surveyed individuals in regard to spirituality, love, family, community, forgiveness, tolerance, ethics, leadership, compassion, service, technology, media, healthcare, and other vital contemporary concerns.
